This week will feature more UWCL matches, as well as games from Italy, England, Spain, and Germany.

2023 is nearly complete, but there are still at least two weeks of great football to follow in the women's game.

Here is all you need to know ahead of another week of women's football.

What to watch in women's football: December 14 to December 17

UEFA Women's Champions League

The group stage of the 2023/24 UEFA Women's Champions League resumes on Thursday, December 14th. Fans will really want to keep an eye on the action in Group C as all four teams - Bayern Munich, Ajax, Roma, and PSG - do have a shot at qualifying for the quarter-finals. However, for PSG, who are last in the table with zero points so far, they will need to win their upcoming match against Roma and then do likewise once they face Ajax in January.

Meanwhile, Roma, who are in contention to successfully defend their Scudetto title, are in great stead to secure a knockout rounds spot after a solid start, and will hope to take advantage of PSG's woes to pick up another three points - especially with Bayern Munich facing a potentially tricky test against Ajax in the other Group C tie.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will aim to regain control of Group D when they host Swedish side BK Häcken, who have surprised many followers by moving to top of their quartet after winning both of their ties so far. The other match on Thursday will feature Paris and Real Madrid, who sit in third and last spot respectively.

FA Women's League Cup

Thursday will also feature a FA Women's League Cup tie starring Manchester United and Leicester City. With Liverpool and Everton already eliminated, the battle to secure passage to the next round is really getting interesting in Group B. At the moment, Manchester City sit on top with seven points, but the Cityzens have both Manchester United (second, six points) and Leicester City (third, five points) in hot pursuit. As such, this match could really prove decisive and shake up things in this group ahead of the final group stage matches taking place in January 2024.

Women's Super League

The latest installment of WSL games kicks off with a London derby starring Tottenham, who sit in sixth spot and are winless in their last five, face Arsenal, who have risen to second spot following their shock 4-1 win over Chelsea last weekend. A win for the Gunners would temporarily help them leapfrog the Blues into top spot in the WSL table as their game will take place on Saturday, over 24 hours before Chelsea aim to get back to winning ways when they travel to face floundering Bristol City on Sunday.

Other games taking place on Sunday include Manchester United looking to make it three wins on the spin when they host Liverpool, while Everton's recent purple patch of form could come under threat when Manchester City come to visit. The action will conclude with Leicester City and West Ham locking horns, with both teams - especially West Ham - really hoping to end their respective ruts.

Liga F

Another round of Liga F matches gets underway this weekend. The action kicks off with second-placed Atletico Madrid hoping to narrow the gap on league leaders Barcelona as they host ninth-placed Real Sociedad. A win for Las Rojiblancas would see them cut their eight point deficit to five points before Barcelona, who have once again surged to the top of the table after a perfect start to the season, face Tenerife in a road match on Sunday.

In addition, there will be more games to tune into over the next few days, starting from Monday, December 18th.

Here's all you need to know.

What to watch in women's football: December 18 to December 20

Frauen-Bundesliga

Matchday 10 will conclude on Monday as second-placed Wolfsburg face Werder Bremen. With Bayern Munich expected to pick up all three points against relegation-threatened Nürnberg on Sunday, the onus will naturally be on Wolfsburg to match that result as the title race in Germany really starts to heat up.

Serie A (Women)

Like the Frauen-Bundesliga, Serie A will also have a match taking place on Monday, with Fiorentina welcoming Inter Milan to wrap up matchday 11. Fiorentina currently sit in third spot, five points behind Juventus, so regardless of the result, the Viola will not be able to leap-frog the Bianconere, but they certainly will not want Inter, who are in fourth, to narrow their five point lead to just two. As for Inter, they actually could find themselves slipping into fifth if Como manage to pull off a huge upset against reigning Scudetto champions Roma.

However, given that the Giallorosse have won every single one of their matches so far, it's honestly hard to see that really happening, meaning that both Fiorentina and Inter will come into this match sitting in their respective spots.

UEFA Women's Champions League

There will be more Women's Champions League action taking place this week, with several crunch clashes happening on Wednesday, December 20th. Key games include Roma vs PSG and Ajax vs Bayern Munich - especially as Group C is looking to be one of the most closely contested ones in this contest. Meanwhile, Swedish outfit BK Häcken will welcome Chelsea for part two of their two legged tie, while Real Madrid and Paris will renew acquaintances for the second time in less than one week.
