The Italian boss was said to have a deal in place with Brazil, but 'Carletto' could be tempted to continue coaching Los Blancos if he is offered a new contract.

Apparently, the time has come to end all the uncertainty that surrounds Real Madrid and the man that will lead them from the dugout next season.

Reports coming in from the Spanish capital, more specifically from Diario As, reveal that Los Blancos have finally made a decision on the identity of their coach for the 2024-25 season and beyond.

In what can be considered as a surprise move, the Spanish giants are set to offer coach Carlo Ancelotti a contract extension, which would deter the Italian boss from his alleged plans to join Brazil's national team.

The report by As states that even if "Carletto" was aware of Brazil's interest, the coach was waiting for contract talks to take place between himself and president Florentino Pérez, which could be held once the Spanish Super Cup is played in January.

Apparently, Real Madrid are delighted with how Ancelotti has handled their injury-plagued season, leading Los Merengues to a perfect group stage in the UEFA Champions League and to the top spot in La Liga, where they are level at 45 points with Girona.

Despite rumors about him signing a contract with Brazil, Ancelotti reportedly told his family that he intended to stay in Europe, but since he vowed Real Madrid to be his last club, he would only consider a contract extension with the La Liga outfit. Now, with that deal coming, the Italian's term with Los Blancos could be extended for two more seasons.

Meanwhile, Brazilian execs wait on the sidelines for Ancelotti's decision, which may come as crucial due to their current problems in the South American Qualifiers. Previously, CBF officers had stated they wanted their new coach (Ancelotti or any other) to lead them in the 2024 Copa América. If Ancelotti snubs them, then A Canarinha will have a ton of work to do prior to the continental tournament.
