The Croatian ace has seen his time on the pitch reduced, which could be the main cause for his decision.

Real Madrid fans will have one more reason to try and finish off this season on a high note, and that will be to give Luka Modric a proper send off.

The Croatian ace, who joined Los Merengues prior to the start of the 2012-13 season, is ready to put an end to his impressive career in the Spanish capital this summer. The player's desire to enjoy more minutes on the pitch and his injury issues would be the main causes for this decision.

A report by Spanish media outlet Relevo reveals that the 38-year-old will not listen to contract extension talks by Real Madrid execs, which will see his tenure at the Bernabeu coming to an end. Modric has been instrumental to Los Blancos' recent success, winning five UEFA Champions League crowns, three La Liga titles, and many more trophies.

Added to those, Modric won the 2018 Ballon D'Or after leading Croatia to the World Cup final that year.

The report also adds that Modric could be considering a high-profile transfer to either the Saudi Pro League or to Major League Soccer, with Inter Miami being his preferred destination after a direct request from Lionel Messi himself.

Once Modric's exit is confirmed, the only remaining member of Los Blancos' legendary midfield trio could be Toni Kroos. Nonetheless, the German ace is yet to sign a new deal, and he could follow Modric's path out of the club once this season comes to a close.
