With just over a month to go until the 2024 NWSL season, fans are surely counting down the days when they will get to see their favorite players and teams back on the pitch.
There is some exciting news ahead for fans based in the USA, as they will have additional ways to follow all the action throughout the season. ABC and ESPN will be carrying a total of 20 NWSL matches throughout the season across their various platforms. Here's the breakdown of who will be covering what:
ABC will cover four games. This includes the following:
- The 2024 NWSL season opener, which will take place on March 16th with a kick off time at 1 pm EST (10 am PST) and feature Kansas City Current vs. Portland Thorns. This game is notable as it will be played at Kansas City's CPKC Stadium, which is the first venue solely built for women's sports and it is the first time ABC is broadcasting a NWSL match in the league's 12 year history
- Three post season playoff matches. These games include two quarter-finals taking place on November 10th at 12:30 pm EST (9:30 am PST) and 3 pm EST (12 pm PST) and a semi-final taking place on November 17th at 2:30 pm EST (11:30 am PST)
ESPN will cover seven games, while ESPN2 will carry nine matches. Meanwhile, Spanish-speaking fans can also follow several NWSL games, as ESPN Deportes will be covering 13 games. Additionally, all 20 matches covered by ESPN will also be live-streamed in both English and Spanish on ESPN+.
