The Blaugrana will have to change their current boss following his resignation over a month a go, and their sporting director has apparently

Apparently, Barcelona' search for a new coach has taken a huge step forward.

The club, who seem ready to part ways with Xavi this summer, have already held meetings with one of the frontrunners to take the gig. Negotiations with the coach in question have been held by sporting director Deco, and the general feeling is that now, this boss is the main target to replace the outgoing Xavi.

The man in question is Hansi Flick, who as per reports, was always one of the most appreciated coaches at Camp Nou. A recent report by Florian Plettenberg revealed how the meeting between Flick and Barcelona execs went, which has also seen him take pole position for the coaching spot.

Barcelona had reportedly earmarked Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Tuchel as potential candidates to replace Xavi Hernández, and while Flick was one of their top choices, the fact that he is available right now to start planning what would be his project with the Blaugrana side seems to have given him the edge over the other candidates.

It is still early to say if Flick will end up joining the Spanish side, but as things stand, he is the most promising option for the team and one that clearly satisfies the intentions of his potential employers.
