The Red Devils were also in FA Cup action during the midweek, locking horns with Nottingham Forest in the 5th round. Erik ten Hag's men left the City Ground with a huge sigh of relief after beating Nuno Espírito Santo's side 1-0 thanks to Casemiro's 89th-minute winner but the English giants return to where they have struggled all season: the Premier League.

Unlike Manchester City, Manchester United do not enter this game on the back of a lovely unbeaten streak. In fact, the visitors' last league match was their embarrassing 2-1 loss at home to Fulham where they were dominated on home soil.

Regardless, Ten Hag's men are fighting an uphill battle to secure UEFA Champions League football. Failure to do so will gravely hamstring their summer transfer plans, thus making every single match between now and the end of the season crucial.

Unfortunately, Ten Hag's men suffered humiliation the last time they crossed paths with Manchester City and are thus fearing a repeat.
