Feyenoord missed a golden opportunity to close the gap on PSV Eindhoven at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie Sunday, as their rivals snatched a 2-2 draw to remain unbeaten domestically this season.

The draw between the top two in the Dutch top flight leaves PSV still 10 points clear of Feyenoord with 10 matches left to play.

PSV were ahead after only four minutes courtesy of a fine strike from United States attacking midfielder Malik Tillman.

But the turning point came mid-way through the first half, as a catastrophic defensive error from Frenchman Olivier Boscagli gifted Feyenoord an equaliser.

Boscagli lost the ball at the back to Yankuba Minteh in front of goal and the Gambian striker made no mistake, slotting a simple finish past Walter Benitez.

A tap-in from Mexico's striker Santiago Gimenez gave Feyenoord the lead after 61 minutes but against the run of play, the home side equalised.

Guus Til latched onto a looping pass over the Feyenoord defence from star player Luuk de Jong to sweep sweetly into the corner, sparking mayhem in the Philips Stadion.

PSV have an away Eredivise encounter against Go Ahead Eagles, before a daunting trip to Borussia Dortmund for the second leg of their Champions League last 16 match.

The home leg finished 1-1, leaving the Dutch side with everything to do against the Bundesliga side.

Feyenoord were dumped out of the Europa League by Roma on penalties but have the consolation of reaching the domestic cup final.
