Top games to watch in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16

Rangers vs. Benfica

Everything remains up in the air in this clash thanks to the first-leg result. That Estádio da Luz showdown ended in a 2-2 draw, with Angel di Maria and an own goal from Connor Goldson helping the Eagles pull off a comeback against the Scottish giants.

However, the second leg takes place at Ibrox, with the Gers yet to lose a home game in the UEFA Europa League. However, Rangers have lost their last game at Ibrox, going 2-1 down to Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership. Benfica, meanwhile, are unbeaten in their last two games but are still reeling from their shocking 5-0 loss against Porto roughly a week ago.

Brighton vs. Roma

Can Brighton pull off a miracle at the Amex? This is the question on everyone's mind as Roberto de Zerbi's men prepare to host Roma needing an unprecedented comeback to avoid elimination. The Seagulls suffered an embarrassing defeat in the first leg in the Italian capital, going 4-0 down to the Serie A heavyweights, but will have the home advantage this time around.

That was a third consecutive defeat for De Zerbi's side and a fourth straight game without a win. However, the English club ended this run over the weekend, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest. Unfortunately for the hosts, Roma are in scintillating form, winning all but three of the 12 games De Rossi has overseen since Jose Mourinho's sacking. Only 90 minutes separate the Giallorossi from a spot in the quarterfinals.

Leverkusen vs. Qarabag

Bayer Leverkusen came within inches of suffering their first defeat of the entire campaign, going 2-0 down away to Qarabag in the first leg. However, a miraculous second-half comeback saw the Germans tie the game, with Florian Wirtz scoring in the 70th minute before Patrik Schick grabbed the equalizer in stoppage time.

The first-leg draw is the only time Xabi Alonso's men failed to win a game in their last eight outings. The visitors are also in spectacular form but the Azerbaijani side have still suffered two defeats in their last 22 matches.

Atalanta vs. Sporting CP

The fixture that kicked off the first leg wraps up this list, with Atalanta hosting Primeira Liga leaders Sporting CP in the return fixture. Nothing has been decided in this tie, with the earlier encounter ending in a 1-1 draw thanks to goals from Paulinho and Scamacca.

While the Italian outfit boast the home advantage, the hosts are winless in their last five matches in a row, losing two and drawing three. The Lions, on the other hand, are unbeaten in 11 games and recently leapfrogged bitter rivals Benfica to go top of their domestic lead. Do not miss this showdown.
