The last eight teams in the Concacaf Champions Cup continue their run to reach the final stages of the competition, and with the Quarter final matches set to take place this week, that number will be reduced to four and set the stage for the semi-finals in two weeks.
Speaking of the "war" between Liga MX and MLS clubs, three of four Mexican teams claimed an advantge in the first legs of the Champions Cup. The only one that failed to do so was Tigres, but claiming an away goal could do the trick for Robert Siboldi's men against the Columbus Crew. On another note, the only team from Central America still involved in the tournament suffered a heavy loss, which may see them putting an end to their title run this week.
Without further ado, let us give you a heads up on how things will unfold this week. Remember that away goals could be used as tiebreakers if the aggregate is level after 180 minutes. If that is not enough, extra time and penalties will be used to determine the winner of each tie.

Tigres UANL vs Columbus Crew: The Mexican side was unable to hold on to their one-goal lead against the Crew, but they have some silver linings ahead of this game, as the Crew will not have Aidan Morris around due to his red card last week. Tigres fielded a team full of replacements during their Liga MX match last weekend, meaning that this is the tournament they have their eyes on. Any win for both teams will get them through to the next round, but a draw with two or more goals for each team will see the Crew reaching the semi-finals.
América vs New England: The hosts for this game earned a commanding lead in the first leg thanks to a 4-0 win. Now, New England will need to score five goals to reach the next stage. This may sound like doable, but when you notice that the Revs have only done so after six MLS games, then things are not as easy as they sound. Meanwhile, América will look for one more win in this game to increase their chances of hosting the return leg of the semi-finals and give themselves more options to host the title match if Concacaf decides to have the game played at Azteca Stadium. Other than that, most believe that América will only need to put up little effort to reach the next stage uncontested.

Pachuca vs Herediano: If América put up quite a performance at New England, Pachuca did even better in their trip to Costa Rica. Los Tuzos claimed a commanding 5-0 win over Herediano, and judging by what we saw during the first leg, there is almost no way in which we could see Herediano turning things around. The team from Costa Rica has played nine away games in Mexico, winning one, drawing three, and losing five times, and while the yellow and red claimed that win during their current run in the tournament, winning by six goals is something that may not be in the cards for this game.
Monterrey vs Inter Miami: The game between Rayados and the Herons ended in controversy, with the Liga MX club accusing Tata Martino, Suárez, and Lionel Messi himself of trying to start a fight in the tunnels at Chase Stadium right after the end of the first leg. Now, with Messi ready to play, the Herons will try to turn things around following their 2-1 loss at home. Winning by two goals would do the trick for the Miamians, but Monterrey have proven to be quite effective at home all tournament. Additionally, Monterrey could lose one-nil or draw the game by any score, and they still would go through. That being considered, it seems that it will not be an easy outing for Martino's men in his return to Mexico.
