Inter Miami return to action in Major League Soccer as Lionel Messi's side aim to generate a winning streak. Standing in their way are Nashville, their opponent from last season's Leagues Cup final, as the struggling Eastern Conference side go in search of revenge at Chase Stadium.

Tata Martino's men enter this clash on the back of their recent trip to Sporting Kansas City, with Messi and Co. ending their winless run courtesy of a crucial 3-2 victory over the Wizards.

Messi, who has struggled for fitness since arriving in Florida, stole the show as the Argentine ace scored a goal and assisted another to inspire a comeback.

The Herons conceded first but an 18th-minute equalizer from Diego Gomez and two second-half efforts helped Inter Miami end their five-game winless run.

Unfortunately, this run of form saw Tata Martino's men crash out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup, losing to Liga MX side Monterrey in the quarterfinals. The MLS side lost 5-2 to their Mexican rivals while dropping points in three consecutive MLS fixtures.

Despite this, the Herons remain top of the Eastern Conference. Messi and Co. are level on points with the New York Red Bulls (15 each). However, Inter Miami have played more matches than any other team in the league and as a result, failure to win could see Martino's crew tumble from the summit.

Nashville, meanwhile, will be hoping to end their one-month wait for a win but should face a stern test at Chase Stadium.
