Euro 2020: Two England players who started in 2-0 Germany win set to miss Ukraine tie

A change in personal and system is guaranteed as Southgate looks to deal with a few fitness concerns.

England are gearing up for their Euro 2020 quarter-final showdown, with Gareth Southgate's side set to lock horns with Ukraine later today. Momentum is on the Three Lions' side as Sterling and Co. look to maintain their winning streak en route to the semi-finals.

The continental giants enter this clash on the back of an unforgettable 2-0 triumph over Germany. After a cagey first half, England found the breakthrough thanks, with Harry Kane, Jack Grealish, and Luke Shaw all playing their part in Raheem Sterling's opening game. Four minutes before the end of normal time, Kane doubled his team's lead and bagged his first goal of the tournament.

Unfortunately, Gareth looks set to be without two of the 11 players who started in that victory over die Mannschaft, meaning a change in personal and system is guaranteed. The first of those two players is Bukayo Saka, with the Arsenal teenage sensation picking up an injury during training in the build-up to this game.

While it does not appear to be a serious knock, Southgate will not take a risk with Saka and will thus opt to rest the Emirates Stadium favorite, as per the Sun. The 19-year-old enjoyed a Man of the Match display against the Czech Republic but was fairly quiet in the clash with Germany and thus might not have been in line to start from the beginning.

While Jack Grealish, who substituted Saka in that round of 16 clash, went on to play a huge role in the victory, the Aston Villa ace looks set to return to the bench. In Bukayo's place, Jadon Sancho appears destined for a rare start, with the British tabloid claiming that the newly-signed Man Utd talent will be named in the first eleven.

The other injury concern is Kieran Trippier, with the Atletico Madrid full-back said to be nursing a muscular issue. As a result, Southgate will leave him out of the lineup and return to a back four, with Kyle Walker pushing out wide. Mason Mount, who was forced into isolation after coming in close contact with Billy Gilmour shortly before testing positive for COVID-19, is back and in the running to start.
