The Juventus forward put the Azzurri in front with a stunning strike.

The clash between Italy and Spain finally had its breakthrough goal coming in a remarkable fashion, with the Azzurri assuming the driver's seat to make a significant step in their bid to secure a place in the final. Roberto Mancini's side were fired in front by Federico Chiesa, putting the finishing gloss on what was a remarkable counter-attacking move.

Italy had barely turned up for the most part of Tuesday's clash at Wembley having had to keep the Spaniards at bay. Both sides ended the first half with the game deadlocked but it was the Azzurri who took initiative to pull ahead in the second half. Against the run of play, they swiftly transitioned from defense to attack, with Chiesa breaking away and sending a brilliant curler past Unai Simon in the Spain goal. Watch:

Not long after, Alvaro Morata came on from the bench to tie the game at one-all and force it into extra time. With Chiesa's strike, he joined Mario Balotelli as the only two players in history to have ever scored in the semi-final of the European Championship for Italy.
