England will be aiming to pretty much lock down a spot at next year's World Cup when they face minnows Andorra on Saturday, October 9th.

Preview: Andorra vs England

England have been largely in cruise control so far during their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign. Save for a surprise and frustrating draw with Poland last month, the Three Lions have won five of their six games so far and are on the cusp of securing their spot at next year's showpiece event. All they need to pick up is eight points, and barring a shocking collapse of epic proportions, Gareth Southgate's men should have no issues grabbing three of that tally against Andorra.

So far, it's been five wins in five for England, and it's pretty guaranteed it will be a sixth win. England will also be looking to keep yet another clean sheet, having scored 20 so far from their prior five meetings. They've scored 16 goals so far, while conceding just two, meaning that indeed it looks set to be a very long evening for struggling Andorra.

While Andorra did earn a 2-0 win over fellow minnows San Marino plus a scoreless draw against tiny Gibraltar, but for all intents and purposes it will be one way traffic here. The hosts lost 4-0 in the reverse fixture at Wembley and as noted before, have never scored against England. Indeed, the struggling side are the only nation to have faced England at least five times and have not scored a goal.

Team news: Andorra vs England

Andorra: The hosts have been given a boost, with the return of Christian Garcia, Marc Rebes, Chus Rubio and Marc Vales from suspension, but they'll still have to make do without Albert Alavedra, Marcio Vieira and Moises San Nicolas, who are all banned for this game.

England: Southgate has major concerns about the fitness of star man Harry Kane, who has struggled for form and fitness this season, and the Tottenham ace may not be risked here due to also the poor condition of Andorra's pitch. That could see Tammy Abraham, currently playing his club football for Roma, being given a spot in the starting XI. Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire is still out with an injury, and the Three Lions will also be missing Reece James and Kalvin Phillips, as well as youngsters Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham. Both Kyle Walker and Declan Rice may be rested here to avoid them picking up any bookings that would see them suspended for England's next game.

Match facts: Andorra vs England
