The day most Barcelona fans were waiting for has arrived. Xavi Hernández is set to join Los Blaugranas as soon as he sets foot in Catalunya after successfully forcing his exit from Al Sadd earlier today.
The decision to let the coach born in Terrassa came after Los Culés agreed to pay the buyout clause included in his deal with the Doha-based side, according to Al Sadd's Twitter feed. The news of Xavi's departure and destination was confirmed by the club itself, and it's only a matter of hours before Los Blaugranas make the official announcement, as the former midfielder had already reached personal terms with the Spanish club.

Xavi will join his boyhood club in an attempt to boost the team's misfortunes this season. More than that, the former midfielder will try to show his makings as a coach after a successful debut with Al Sadd in that capacity. Hernández coached the Qatari side for 97 games, with 64 of those ending in wins.
The former midfielder will not be in charge of Barcelona's next game against Celta, as sources close to the negotiation have stated that interim coach Sergi Barjuán will coach that game and let Xavi take over next week. The official unveilment is set to take place between Monday and Tuesday, depending on president Joan Laporta's agenda.
Although these numbers might seem impressive, only time will tell if he is capable of steering Barcelona back to winning ways in his first experience in charge of one of the most popular teams in the globe.
