Goals by Olympic medal winners Alexis Vega and Henry Martín paved the way for El Tri's comeback against the Reggae Boyz.

The battle for the three straight tickets to play in the FIFA World Cup is hotter than ever, and Mexico left everything out there to keep fighting for the top spot in CONCACAF's qualifiers that used to belong to them.

Things seemed to be on a roll for El Tri during the first half, especially after Jamaica's Damion Lowe was sent off for a nasty tackle against Andrés Guardado. Nevertheless, El Tri's happiness went down the drain when Daniel Johnson scored the opener for Jamaica.

Coach Tata Martino scrambled his men around and found three key players that came off the bench to shift the tide. Diego Lainez, Henry Martín and Jesús Corona stepped in to make things right for El Tri, with Martín leveling things and with Corona being decisive for Mexico's second goal.

The first goal for Mexico came with Martín finding the back of the net with only ten minutes left in the clash after goalkeeper Andre Blake was not able to hold on to a ball initially hit by Alexis Vega.

Moments later, a good dribble by Jesús Corona and a key assist by Carlos Rodríguez found Vega all alone inside the box. The Chivas de Guadalajara man hit the volley with his left foot to kick off the celebrations for Mexico on the bench and in their home country.

Mexico remain third in the CONCACAF Qualifiers, with two more games taking place for them in the next five days. Fortunately for them, those matches will be played at home.
