The German tactician has heaped praise on his two star players as Liverpool get ready to face Inter in the Champions League round of 16.

Both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are widely, and deservedly viewed as two of the top attacking players in world football. The African duo notably went head to head as Egypt and Senegal locked horns in a tense battle at this winter's AFCON tournament, and it was Mane who proved to be the hero on the night to give the Lions of Teranga their first ever AFCON victory.

Fresh off playing in all seven games at the AFCON, both Salah and Mane promptly returned to club duties and even were part of the starting XI as Liverpool picked up a hard-fought win over Burnley last weekend. Many were certainly surprised to see them involved, especially so soon after the AFCON final had concluded.

However, their coach, Jurgen Klopp, has unveiled the "secret" to how his two star players stay in such peak condition - even when having to deal with a congested fixture list.

"Both [of them] don't drink alcohol, so that major problem you have if you celebrate a big thing, that kills or extends the recovery time, isn't there," the German tactician noted as Liverpool are preparing to take on Inter in an intriguing round of 16 Champions League tie.

"[So because] they don't drink, [it's only natural] that they were fit the day after the [AFCON final]."

Salah and Mane are certainly not the only top players to live an alcohol-free lifestyle. In their case, their reason isn't just for health, but also religious reasons, as both are devout Muslims - like fellow Reds player Naby Keita, who also doesn't drink.

Liverpool will  resume their Champions League journey on Wednesday evening, when they face the Nerazzurri at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
