Signed in the summer of 2011, the midfielder was to replace the legendary Claude Makélélé and has so far lived up to the expectations with some excellent performances for the capital side.
The midfielder has made 27 appearances for PSG so far and has been one of the key players this season, earning praises from everyone around him.

His agent was the first to applaud him, and commended him on his wonderful performances.

"He has exploded this year; he came to Paris for that. He is the best French player right now,” said Bernes to Le Parisien.

His Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti was also delighted by his amazing display, and especially highlighted his display in the Champions League against Valencia.

Ancelotti said: "I have no words for Matuidi; He is one of the best places in Europe. Against Valencia he was fantastic but it wasn’t just against Valencia, he is like that all the time.”

Praises have been coming from everywhere for the highly rated midfielder, his French coach Didier Deschamps has also lauded him for his fine performances, but also expressed concerns over his star player from getting fatigued being overly used.

"His performance against Valencia does not surprise me. But I am a little worried to see him play ninety minutes every four days. There was a moment when I saw him on the ground and I had some chills.”

The biggest of the praises perhaps came from the president of the club himself Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who applauded his performances and his character and denied that the player will be allowed to leave despite his contract due to expire in the summer of 2014.

"He will never leave PSG," said the businessman to le Parisien."

"I love him. He is a warrior, and is never arrogant. He always wants to progress and that is something awesome and unique. He is one of the best players in our squad, and indeed, all of France."

Matuidi himself was humble towards all the praise, but reiterated that he would like to enjoy his football for now and give his contract extension a thought later.

"I take great pleasure in playing for PSG, but still have a year on my contract.” Said the star midfielder

"The president's statements were extremely touching, but I just want to make every effort to finish the season well."

Les Parisiens were shocked by an early lead from bottom placed Nancy, however Zlatan Ibrahimovic put the side in the driving seat by scoring twice in three minutes, and earned three very important points for PSG.

"If things were already written in advance, football would not be such a beautiful sport," "Our future is ours to write.” said the French midfidler

"We must take to matches with the right attitude. Nancy played a great match tonight, but we responded well."

The capital side now have a five points lead over second placed Lyon who still have a game in hand, and are cruising towards their first league title in nineteen years.
