The Portuguese superstar landed another extraordinary feat by inspiring Manchester United to a vital win on Saturday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo broke the all time goalscoring record in world football with a hat trick as Manchester United secured a hard-earned win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. The 37-year-old forward inspired the Red Devils to survive multiple scares in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford, scoring all of the hosts' goals in the night's 3-2 win.

Ronaldo's historic night began by scoring a sensational opener, striking the ball from long range to hand United the lead inside the first 12 minutes. A penalty decision subsequently went in favor of Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Kane rightfully converted the chance from the spot to tie with Wayne Rooney's record for most goals scored away from home in the Premier League's history.

However, the lead was restored before the half time break, with Ronaldo finding the back of the net after being brilliantly picked out by Jadon Sancho. Man United almost had their day ruined for a second successive game with the defensive frailties of Harry Maguire being exposed once more. The center-back allowed Spurs to come back into the contest by scoring another own-goal inside the 72nd minute.

His heroics landed him yet another major milestone as he consequently became the top goal-scorer in the history of professional football with 807 goals, breaking Josef Bican's record. The former Real Madrid and Juventus attacker, who has now scored 59 career hat-tricks, is also the second oldest player (37 years 35 days) to score a Premier League hat-trick after Teddy Sheringham (37 years 146 days).

In the grand scheme of things, Manchester United have also become the first club in the Premier League's history to win exactly 400 Premier League home games. 23 of those wins have been against Tottenham, also more than any side has beaten another at home in the Premier League.
