North American soccer fans are getting spoiled early in the 2022 MLS season with the 14th edition of El Trafico on Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET. FOX Network and FOX Deportes (spanish-language) will broadcast the game live on TV in the USA. Learn how to watch the game in 40+ countries.

Los Angeles FC arrives at Dignity Health Sports Park at the peak of the MLS Western Conference table. The Black and Gold are 4-1-0 to start their 2022 campaign and look to stay at the helm of the conference. Forward Carlos Vela leads the team in goals - four - and assists - two - and is hungry for more El Trafico goals.

An LA Galaxy win would put it just one point away from the top spot in the conference. Manager Greg Vanney’s side is coming off a 3-1 away win at Providence Park in Portland. Forward Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez scored a double, leading the team to a victory against a then home undefeated Portland Timbers.

The game is each team's most important match of the season. Not only will LA Galaxy or LAFC stay at the top of the table if they win, but the winner would head into future matches with momentum.

LA Galaxy vs. LAFC: head-to-head

LA Galaxy has been the most dominant out of the two rivals, leading the all-time record since the inception of the rivalry on March 31, 2018. The older of the two sides leads El Trafico's record 5-3-5.

Vela is the all-time top scorer in the derby. He will look to extend his ten-goal record on Saturday night. Chicharito aims to get his second goal in the series.
