The Belgian ace handed Tottenham a huge blow in their top four race after netting past Hugo Lloris in the final minute of normal time.

Tottenham vs. Brighton and Hove Albion just dished out another brilliant twist in the Premier League's exciting top four race.

Graham Potter's men visited Spurs in Saturday's early kick-off a week after beating Arsenal 2-1 in north London. Antonio Conte's men, meanwhile, entered on the back of brilliant form, having moved into pole position for UEFA Champions League football after leapfrogging the Gunners.

As a result, Tottenham needed to win this tie. Unfortunately for them, not only were they unable to achieve a victory, but Harry Kane and Co. were unable to even pick up a point, losing 1-0 to the Seagulls in front of their home supporters.

The visitors controlled most of the game, which isn't too surprising as Brighton are a possession-heavy side while the hosts are brilliant at picking teams apart on the break. However, what was concerning for Spurs was the fact that the Seagulls limited them to zero shots on target.

And just as the game appeared destined for a draw, Leandro Trossard popped up in the 90th minute to break the opposition's heart. Albeit under fortunate circumstances, the Belgian ace managed to pick up the ball inside Tottenham's penalty in the final minute of normal time, dummying Eric Dier before firing the ball past Hugo Lloris to win the game just before added time.

This saw both the club and the 27-year-old reach lovely feats. Starting off with Brighton, they became only the second team in Premier League history to win at Arsenal and Tottenham, north London's two biggest clubs, in consecutive Premier League matches, with Hull City back in October 2008 being the only other side to achieve this.

As for Trossard, he became the first visiting player to score a 90th-minute winning goal against Tottenham in over six years, with Ayoze Perez last pulling off this feat for Newcastle back in December 2015.

This was an unfortunate result for Spurs as Arsenal, their closest rival in the top four race, sit only three points behind despite having played two fewer games. The Gunners take to the field shortly after Conte's men, visiting Southampton in yet another tricky Premier League tie. Beat the Saints at St. Mary's Stadium and Arteta's crew will go level on points with their neighbors.
