The Blues are now willing to launch a mega-money bid for the Everton starlet as they look to address their goalscoring issues.

With just over a week remaining in the summer transfer window, Chelsea are working hard to get a few deals over the line in time for deadline day.

Several names have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Leicester center-back Wesley Fofana being the main defensive target while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is seen as the ideal striker for Thomas Tuchel. However, the former Arsenal captain isn't the only attacker on the Blues' radar this summer.

It is no secret that the London giants are interested in Everton starlet Anthony Gordon, with the FIFA Club World Cup holders being willing to launch a mega-money bid for the 21-year-old. Boehly and Co. have already had four approaches for the player turned down, showing that the Toffees won't let the Englishman go without a fight, but Chelsea aren't giving up either.

Fortunately for Tuchel, the Premier League giants have received a huge boost in this pursuit. According to the Daily Mail, Gordon has gone to Frank Lampard, the current boss at Goodison Park, and informed him of his desire to leave Merseyside for Stamford Bridge.

The opportunity to join one of the biggest clubs in world football will forever be attractive, but that isn't the only appealing thing about joining Chelsea, as a successful start to life in West London could earn Anthony a spot in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

Additionally, the Blues are willing to fork out huge money for the youngster. An initial offer of £45M ($53M) was rejected by Everton but the two-time UEFA Champions League winners are now prepared to pay a whopping £60M ($71M) for the attacker, with £50M ($59M) being guaranteed while the additional £10M ($12M) will be in add-ons.

The two parties are now closer in terms of valuation, and as a result, Chelsea are hopeful of getting this deal done before the summer transfer window shuts close.
