The German striker did not hold back when being asked about his former teammate ahead of the Champions League meeting this Tuesday.

The game between Bayern and Barcelona is set to be one of the major events in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, and Barcelona's trip to Germany will give Bayern fans a chance to welcome Robert Lewandowski back, something they did not have a chance to do before he left the club during the summer.

Speaking in the press conference ahead of the game, former Lewandowski teammate and Bayern star Thomas Müller disclosed details about Lewandowski's final days with the club, while also admitting that the footballer did not share his intentions with the team at any point during his transfer saga.

"We still have a great relationship, even though he did not give us a reason for wanting to leave. Every person must be held responsible for their own decisions, and we only knew what was going on through media reports. I see it as a normal thing, I would not go around the dressing room throwing out names of teams that were after me," Müller said.

The German player went on about how much the team will miss a footballer such as the Polish striker.

"It is clear that it will be a long time before this wonderful striker belongs to the past of this club, and he may never be there. One thing's for sure: he will not be around to help us anymore," Müller added.

Bayern's co-captain revealed how Die Roten should approach marking their former teammate in order to get closer to victory.

"It will be up to us not to allow him to have a major role in the game. That happens when he is capable of holding on to the ball in the middle of the park and close to the box. We will try to avoid that. Also, we should try to recover the ball as fast as possible, something that has become a trademark for our style of play,"Müller stated.
