Puebla coach, ‘Chelis’ Sánchez Solá, asked his players to wear wolf masks while training as a way to boost their confidence.

Ahead of their match against Querétaro on Friday, ‘El Chelís’ came up with this creative way to motivate his players; wearing wolf masks in a training activity.

Although this is not something usually seen in a professional practice, the Puebla manager considered it as a funny exercise for their players to boost their energy when recovering the ball.

“I watched a video from Diego Simeone doing the same exercise but without the masks,” the former Chivas USA coach mentioned.

“I decided to modify the activity a little bit so the players get a better understanding of what I’m expecting from them in these kind of situations.

“When you go for the ball, you will remember that you’re a wolf and you will have to fight for it, steal it and defend it.”

The manager also said that he is trying to motivate his players and make them recover their confidence as Puebla is currently in the relegation battle and they urgently need victories in order to stay in Mexico’s top-flight division.

Even Cuautémoc Blanco (number 10) put the mask on during the activity
