Hull City almost pulled off a stunner against the Citizens thanks to a goal byDavid Meyler, but Milner's free kick denied them the much-needed victory.

Manchester City's hopes of keeping up with Chelsea's pace in the Premier League title race suffered a major blow today, after drawing their match against Hull City. Manuel Pellegrini's men were not able to perform correctly on the pitch and were just about to lose at Etihad Stadium, when James Milner scored a free kick in the dying seconds of the game.

Steve Bruce's changes in his Starting XI paid off against the current Premier League holders, and even before their go-ahead goal, the Tigers enjoyed quite a few chances against Pellegrini's confused side. David Meyler scored for the visitors at close range when Ramirez block a clearance by Demichelis. The ball came loose and Meyler put it past Joe Hart to make it 1-0.

After the break, Manchester City tried to pull back against a well-positioned visiting side. Neither Edin Dzeko nor Sergio Aguero could beat Allan McGregor, and the ref was not impressed by the penalty claims from the locals after a questionable challenge to David Silva.

Just when the game was nearing its end, James Milner drilled a free kick inside McGregor's net, leading to wild celebrations by The Citizens' fans. Nevertheless, losing two points against a team that fights for its survival has to hurt their chances of winning the Premier League.
