Both players came down with a torn ACL, giving the German coach a new headache prior to his debut as Liverpool's manager this Saturday.

Jürgen Klopp's debut as Liverpool's boss will not be as mellow as their supporters may have wanted, since the German coach will not have a full squad to choose from. Added to Christian Benteke's injury, the former Borussia Dortmund skipper will not have full back Joe Gomez and striker Danny Ings available for Saturday's clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Gomez came down with a torn ACL during the U-21 match between England and Kazahstan. After leaving the pitch by his own foot, Gomez's injury did not seem to be as serious, but later tests indicated otherwise.

"Gomez came here. I met him first time. What a wonderful young boy – tall, muscles in the right position. Everything is fine but injured. An ACL. Yeah. Now it goes this way. Now we have to make further diagnostic, more diagnostic and we will see when he gets operated," Klopp indicated.

On the other hand, Danny Ings made his senior debut with the Pross against Lithuania, and came down with the same injury after a harsh challenge during today's training session. His injury left him in serious risk of missing the Euro 2016 with England, since his recovery time is yet to be revealed.

Klopp had his first session with all of Liverpool's internationals.

Klopp's first game with the Reds will feature Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi as the only eligible strikers, since Brazilian Roberto Firmino is also recovering from an injury. While he recovers all of those players out of commission, the German boss revealed what he wants from his new pupils.

"I know how I want to play. At the end it is only football. Now we have to open our chests, run and fight and shoot. We have to play like our best dream,  I want to see more braveness, I want to see fun in their eyes, I want to see that they like what they do," Klopp concluded.
