After being sought out by Chelsea, Barcelona and Liverpool, former Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi seems to be on his way out of Paris Saint-Germain's discipline to join Chinese Super League's Shanghao Shenhua.
Coach Laurent Blanc revealed that the player was included in the team's roster that defeated Olympique Marseille on Sunday, but the South American player asked for permission to negotiate with the Chinese team's execs.
"Honestly, the club could tell you a lot more than me. He prepared to come here to Marseille and then at the last minute he stayed in Paris to negotiate his departure," Blanc told reporters after the OM-PSG match.
The 30-year old player hasn't been able to establish himself as a regular starter with Les Parisiens this season, starting only three Ligue 1 games so far. Lavezzi has scored 29 goals for the French team since he joined prior to the start of the 2012-2013 season.
But despite Lavezzi's desire to leave the current Ligue 1 champions, coach Blanc does not like the idea of letting him go without the chance to substitute him.
"We opened the door for Pocho in the winter transfer window, something that he didn't take advantage of. We'll have to think about it, given that if we lose one player we won't be able to replace him," the coach added.
Paris Saint Germain established a team record last Sunday with their ongoing 34-game streak in the domestic tournament without a loss.
