Just when things seemed to get tougher for Liverpool, Philippe Coutinho stepped up and delivered.
The Brazilian midfielder managed to end single-handedly the tie between Liverpool and Manchester United, as the playmaker came out of nowhere to score a crucial away goal for Jürgen Klopp's side, helping the Reds to win the first-ever series between both teams in a European competition.
Anthony Martial managed to put the Red Devils ahead with a well-placed penalty kick, but when Manchester United's second goal seemed to be closer than ever, Coutinho took a long ball to the left side, dribbled past Varela and ended his skillful play with a top-caliber finish over David De Gea. The player could have ended all hope for Manchester United in the second half, but his effort was denied by the Spanish shot-stopper.
Here's a quick look at the South American player's finish.
Coutinho's skills drove Man United crazy all day long.

Coutinho spun Varelo so bad he's had to get subbed, go home and apologise to his family for shaming the name

Antonio Valencia replaces Varela, who is suffering third degree burns after being absolutely roasted by Coutinho. #MUFCvLFC

Coutinho ALWAYS steps up when it matters. What a player.

Totally convinced that Coutinho hasn't reached his peak. He's only 23, needed a coach like Klopp to take him to the next level. Paying off.
