Could this be the beginning of a good relationship between the Obamas and the Messis?
The Argentine superstar, currently preparing for Saturday’s clash with Real Madrid in El Clasico, surprised the daughters of Barack Obama, sending both of them signed Argentina shirts with their names printed on it.
This comes after the president of the United Stated admitted that Malia and Sasha – 17 and 14 years of age respectively – tried to meet the five-time Ballon d’Or winner whilst the family was in Argentina on a diplomatic trip.
However, the daughters were handed two disappointing blows, as they failed to accompany their father to South America, and the trip coincided with La Albiceleste’s clash away to Chile in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, meaning Leo wasn’t even back at home.
The Blaugrana attacker, though, looks to have made amends for the failed attempt to meet him, autographing two jerseys with his number 10 on it and sending it to the white house.

Of course, this gesture doesn’t even come close to actually meeting the 28-year-old in person, but it should be enough for now until the next opportunity to cross paths with the Argentine arises.
Or if Malia and Sasha cannot wait, La Pulga will be at Camp Nou on Saturday, looking to terrorize Zinedine Zidane’s defense.
