Tottenham Hotspur boss made a shocking but funny confession after his side’s 3-0 win over rivals Man United on Sunday.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino made a shocking but hilarious confession after their dramatic win over Man Utd at the White Hart Lane. The hosts took a 3-0 lead within six minutes thanks to Matteo Darmian’s alleged blunder at the right-back. Goals from Dele Alli, Toby Aderweireld and Erik Lamela gave the Lillywhites a comfortable lead after struggling to find the back of the next for the first 73 minutes thanks to David De Gea’s superb saves.

But it was Pochettino’s shocking confession that sparked some giggles among journalists at a press conference. The Argentine confessed that he did not watch Lamela’s goal because he was ‘busy’ elsewhere, precisely in the toilet.

Speaking during a post-match press conference, he revealed:

"I missed Lamela's goal! I saw it on TV. I left the toilet in the manager's room, then heard the roar so I ran to the dressing room to watch.’’

Although the win gave the North London club increased hope of battling for the title against Leiciester City who secured a 2-0 win over Sunderland, Pochettino insisted that he is not concerned about the high-flying Foxes.

It was important for us to show character and personality after the Leicester game. I'm very happy.’’

He added:

"We showed a message that we are there, waiting and fighting. If they fail we have to stay there. Seven points is a big gap to reduce but we have to believe."

Spurs are expected to pile more pressure on league leaders Leicester City when they host Stoke City at the White Hart Lane in their next Premier League fixture. The win over Man United has reduced The Foxes' lead at the top of the table to seven points, and Pochettino's side will be praying that Ranieri's men will drop points along the way to blow the title race wide open.
