Lord Bendtner will return to England, where he will face former side Arsenal in two weeks time

It’s official; Lord Nicklas Bendtner will make his return to England after completing a deal with Nottingham Forest.

Rumors broke out on Tuesday linking the Danish striker with the second-tier English side as a free agent, meaning he could sign for any club despite the transfer window being closed.

After nine goals and 49 appearances with former employers Wolfsburg, accompanied by a few disciplinary issues, the 28-year-old was released and left without a club.

Bendtner, however, will now make his return to football, as Tricky Trees’ Chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi confirmed the deal via Twitter, writing:

“Please welcome Nicklas Bendtner who has joined Nottingham Forest on a two-year deal.”

Although Bendtner spent most of his England days in the English Premier League with Arsenal and on loan with Sunderland, the former Gunners forward experienced the Football League Championship whilst on loan with Birmingham.

Nicklas will come against the north London giants in the League cup when his former side and current club lock horns on September 20.
