Zinedine Zidane stepped up and shared his thoughts on Francois Hollande's words where he criticized French players for a number of reasons. In an excerpt of the politician's biography published by a couple of journalists from Le Monde, the French President blasted Les Bleus' members while criticizing Karim Benzema in particular.
"Karim Benzema is not an example of moral values," the French President said about Los Blancos' striker, who has been erased from any recent call ups due to his legal problems with French midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.
"There is no sense of respect for the National Team. All those lads went from spoiled brats to overpaid divas. Ther the French Football Federation should consider giving them a few lessons to make their brain muscles work," he added.
Speaking in Monday's pre-match press conference, "Zizou" shared his views on what the President said, and he looked rather annoyed by his words.
"His words are, to say the least, unfortunate. I can understand if Benzema was angered by those words. You can get criticized for doing or not doing your job, but some issues are way out of line, and these claims are annoying," Zidane said.
Speaking with a hint of sarcasm, Zidane suggested the French President to stick to politics, rather than sharing his thoughts on how players should behave.
"Everyone can say what they think, especially a politician, but I don't share most of his words and that's it. He's the one that has to change his views, I'm not going to enlighten him,"the French manager added.
