We don't see this more often but it has happened. A rare goalkeeping mistake by David De Gea gifted Switzerland a goal in Sunday's friendly encounter.
The 27-year-old made a mess of a Swiss effort at goal, resulting in the ball falling into the path of Ricardo Rodriguez who unerringly tapped home. The strike, however, only tied the scoreline at one-all considering Alvaro Odriozola had put La Roja a goal ahead in the first half.
But that did not immune the Manchester United shot-stopper from receiving slander from some fans on social media. Below are some of the reactions:

I love De Gea. On the world stage he does a "Karius" to ensure Madrid lose any interest in him. What a legend.

De Gea is fraud

That's my entire point of why I don't think de Gea is the best keeper in the world. Makes easy saves look hard because he flies around trying to look cool. https://t.co/FzOp6h7CAr

De Gea did a Karius

De Gea is supposedly better than Neuer you know. I don't see it, and I never will. He's top 2, but David is miles off number 1.

Despite the howler, De Gea is still expected to safeguard Spain's goal at the World Cup after another impressive campaign in the post for the Red Devils. His 18 clean sheets in the Premier League this season won him a first-ever Golden Glove since making his switch from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United in 201
