Xavi Hernandez admitted that he was disappointed with the loss to Arsenal even though he felt his team were the better one on the night.
Barcelona midfielder Xavi said that he felt Barcelona were the better team on the pitch but he was disappointed that his team did not make full use of all their chances.

"It was a shame because we felt we were superior to Arsenal," the 31-year-old told Marca post-match. "The result is worse than last season's, as we had a draw in that match, and now we have a loss.

"The team made significant errors, but played good football. All we lacked was the finishing touch.

"We didn't convert our endless opportunities. The match was up for the taking, but failed to win. The result was somewhat unfair.

"We may be disappointed, and know what we need to do in the return leg. We believe we can do well at the Nou Camp, and we are optimistic, but we respect Arsenal a lot," he concluded.

Xavi was unable to influence the game too much last night due to the constant presence of the impressive Jack Wilshere and Alex Song. Xavi will definitely be hoping that Barcelona will be able to turn things around when both sides meet again next month at the Nou Camp.
