The supporters are calling for the ex-player to be fired as soon as possible with they club's struggles persisiting.

Arsenal fans have issued a rallying cry to the club's hierarchy to part ways with manager Mikel Arteta following Saturday's away defeat to Everton. The Gunners fell to a disappointing 2-1 loss at the Goodison Park to extend their winless run in the Premier League to seven.

Mikel Arteta's men had more misery piled on them after conceding first in the evening's showdown through Rob Holding's 27th minute own-goal. 13 minutes later, Nicolas Pepe converted a spot-kick to tie the game at one-all before Yerry Mina snatched the maximum points for the hosts with a headed goal on the stroke of half-time.

The final result leaves Arsenal in the 15th position with just 14 points from 14 games. Despite beefing up their ranks this summer with some new arrivals, the Gunners are just four points above the relegation zone, a depiction that has left their fanbase asking for the sack of manager Mikel Arteta.

Sunday, December 20, will mark exactly a year since the appointment of the 38-year-old Spaniard as the successor Unai Emery. Having been able to steer Arsenal on course in his early days, Pep Guardiola's former understudy is seemingly running out of ideas to properly guide the club to compete at the top level in recent times.

Under his purview, Arsenal have lost five of their last seven matches in the Premier League - a series of results that have caused supporters of the club to demand for his immediate sack. Despite recording their worst start in 46 years as a result of the outcome of the day's game with Everton, Arteta opined that his side's performance was commendable, although they could have made due with some luck.

"Without conceding much we lost the game on two key moments," Arteta told Sky Sports at full time.

"We reacted really well. We dominated the game. We created enough chances at least to not lose. We hit the bar. We don't have the luck.

"We are in a big fight. We lost against Burnley without them having a shot on target, and now we lose because of a couple of chances. It's really difficult when you play a team who are defending low and wasting time. We make it difficult for ourselves conceding the first goal.

"I think we had 15 shots but only two on target. We need to improve our rate, that's the reality. We need to generate more to win football matches. When it comes to small details, the other team wants it more. The boys are absolutely still fighting. They're hurt right now."
