The Cityzens are the first WSL club to secure a naming rights deal for their home stadium.

The 2023/24 WSL season is just around the corner, but for fans of Manchester City, they will be seeing some interesting new changes at the team's home ground in October.

The Cityzens currently play their matches at the 7,000 seater Academy Stadium in Manchester, and are the only WSL side to have a stadium specifically and solely built for football. And now, the club have made history as the first WSL team to sign a naming rights deal for their venue.

Joie, a company that produces baby apparel and other products, have been partnered with Manchester City since March, and now will have the naming rights to the aforementioned Academy Stadium. As a result, the stadium will now be renamed as the Joie Stadium, where Manchester City will play their first home game against reigning Women's Super League champions Chelsea on October 8th.
