Luis Enrique's side have failed to win all but two of their opening five games of the season and they enter this Champions League match on the back of a disappointing defeat at home to Nice, with Mbappe's brace unable to salvage a point in that 3-2 loss on Friday.
Given that Les Parisiens are in the Group of Death alongside Dortmund, Newcastle, and AC Milan, many have begun wondering whether Mbappe and Co. will make it out of the group stage. Victory over BVB in the opening game could quell those fears but the club's recent results show that that won't be easy to achieve.

PSG: Marco Asensio is unfortunately unavailable due to a foot injury. Meanwhile, Fabian Ruiz, Nordi Mukiele, and Nuno Mendes are also unavailable. Lee Kang-in and Presnel Kimpembe are also sidelined but fortunately, Marquinhos and Manuel Ugarte are expected to return to the lineup after sitting out the defeat to Nice due to their late return from South America's World Cup qualifiers.
Dortmund: Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey are sidelined with hamstring and knee injuries, respectively. Gio Reyna could return to the squad for this game but question marks linger over Julien Duranville due to his fitness. On a positive note, Gregor Kobel, Niclas Fullkrug, and Julian Ryerson should all be available for selection.
