Once this weekend comes to an end in Liga MX, there will only be one game left for each team in the regular season. With that in mind, all playoff and play-in spots should be handed out between this week nd the next, when the first part of the calendar comes to a close.
As things stand, América, Toluca, Monterrey, and maybe Cruz Azul could become league leaders when the tournament ends. Las Águilas have endured a busy semester, but they have managed to prevail as the best team in the league. For this week, los Azulcremas could seal the top spot in the league if they win their game and these three teams fail to do the same. If they fail to reach the top spot, then those three teams will be in pole position to reach the top four spots, which have added perks when the playoffs begin.
The other six spots are up for grabs between seven teams. Necaxa, Pachuca, Tigres UANL, Guadalajara, Querétaro, Pumas UNAM, and León still have a chance to reach the playoffs or the play-in round, but they will need to earn as much points as possible in their next two games. Out of those, León need to win both their matches to stand a chance.
Unfortunately, there are seven teams that have seen their playoff hopes ending: Santos, San Luis, Juárez, Mazatlán, Atlas, Tijuana, and Puebla may want to start preparing for next season, because this one turned out to be a disappointment for all these sides.

Top games to watch
León vs Monterrey - Los Panzas Verdes are the only team outside of the top ten that still have an option to be included in the play-in phase. To accomplish that, they will need at least four points out of their games, something that might not be as easy as thought. Facing Monterrey will not be a walk in the park, especially due to the fact that los Rayados are battling for the top spot. Additionally, Monterrey are unbeaten in their last four matches against León (two wins, two draws), which will make the task for Jorge Bava's men a bit more complicated.
