August 2012 could be the best ever month for El Tri fans. Mexico host bitter rivals USA a few days after the U23 team clinched gold at the London 2012 Olympics.

Mexico vs USA - live from 20:00 EST on August 15, 2012USA’s national soccer team is yet to take shape under Jurgen Klinsmann. The former Germany coach has excluded several key players from his squad for tonight’s international friendly against Mexico. The United States are unbeaten in their last three matches.

Next month, USA will face Jamaica home and away in the Third Round of their World Cup 2014 qualifying campaign. Beating Mexico will greatly boost the Americans’ spirit as Klinsmann declared:

“This is a unique opportunity for us, because we never know when we’ll get the opportunity again to play in El Azteca.

“We want to measure ourselves with Mexico. And we respect what they’ve done but we’re coming here to win. We’re not coming here to defend, we’re coming here to win.”

Likewise, Mexico enter tonight’s match with the sole aim of triumphing. Star striker Javier Hernandez reportedly told the press this week:

“We have a very important match here on Wednesday. We have to aspire to win it and keep working hard because we'll be playing two qualifying matches soon.”

Can USA secure their first ever victory at the Estadio Azteca and destabilize Mexico ahead of September’s World Cup 2014 qualifiers?
