Who are the top three goalscorers in Serie A?

Here's how the Capocannoniere race is shaping up after 23 rounds of Italian top flight football action:

1. Ciro Immobile, Lazio - 17 goals

2. Dusan Vlahović, Fiorentina - 17 goals

3. Giovanni Simeone, Hellas Verona - 12 goals

Serie A key headlines, stats, and other facts

Historic progress for Spezia: Their win over AC Milan was certainly controversial, as the minnows were helped by some poor refereeing decisions during their 2-1 victory. But Spezia are certainly keen on showing that their win wasn't just a fluke as they followed up that success with a narrow 1-0 win over Sampdoria last weekend. That means that for the first time in their nascent top flight history (as Spezia are only in their sophomore term in Serie A), the Aquilotti have won three matches on the trot. They certainly have a great chance to make it four on the spin as they'll be facing bottom-ranked Salernitana next weekend.

Goal-getter: It's safe to say that Tammy Abraham has been enjoying a new lease on his football career after moving from Chelsea to Roma. The English international netted a brace for the Giallorossi at the weekend as Jose Mourinho's men, who've had their ups and downs this season, successfully battled to a 4-2 win over Empoli. Although Roma were given a scare as Empoli managed to claw two goals back, they still hung on for all three points.

But back to Abraham - with nine goals so far, he's scored more goals in Serie A than any other English player since the league started recording wins as three points.

An unprecedented result: Last weekend's big game featuring Juventus and Milan saw both sides have to settle for a point. That has seen Milan now slip down into third, while Juventus will have to try again next weekend to dislodge Atalanta from fourth spot. It's also the first time in 30 years that the Rossoneri and the Bianconeri have drawn both of their regular seasonal fixtures.

Top Serie A matches: February 6th

Fiorentina vs Lazio: Both Fiorentina and Lazio come into this match joint-tied on points, and neither the Viola nor the Aquile have been in the best of form as of late despite the strong efforts of their respective star strikers. Will Ciro Immobile and Dusan Vlahovic, who are currently neck-and-neck in the race for the Capocannoniere, be able to be the deciding factor for Lazio and Fiorentina respectively in this weekend's clash?

Inter vs Milan: The Derby della Madonnina is always a big one many Serie A fans look forward to each season, and the latest installment is certainly no exception. As things stand, the Nerazzurri presently enjoy a four point lead over the chasing pack, meaning that win, lose, or draw, Simone Inzaghi's men will still be on top of the Serie A table by the time this round ends. That being said, they obviously won't want to lose - especially not to bitter cross-town rivals Milan. The Rossoneri, meanwhile, will be keen on getting back to winning ways after a loss and a draw from their last fixtures as any further slip-ups could see Inter totally slip out of their grasp.

Juventus vs Hellas Verona: Juventus have been steadily making their way back up the table, but a draw last weekend means that they'll need to do better if they want do finally knock Atalanta out of fourth spot. The Bianconeri will be facing Hellas Verona, and it won't be a match they will take lightly as the Gialloblu, spearheaded by the goalscoring efforts of Giovanni Simeone (yes, Diego Simeone's son), currently sit in a very impressive ninth spot, with just one loss from their last five games.

Roma vs Genoa: Roma finally seem to have gotten a positive wind in their sails after a rough period, and Jose Mourinho's men, having avoided a collapse during their 4-2 win over Empoli last time out, will now look to make it three wins on the spin when they welcome Genoa to the Stadio Olimpico. Given that the Grifone have won just one game all season and presently are only propped up by Salernitana, this presents an obvious great chance for the Lupi to put some distance between themselves and Fiorentina and Lazio, who will be going head to head this weekend.

Venezia vs Napoli: Now back in second spot, the Partenopei are determined to continue chasing down Inter. The Nerazzurri do face a potentially tricky test in the Derby della Madonnina, while Napoli could hypothetically narrow the gap to just one point if they can beat a Venezia side who have picked up just two points from their last five matches.
