The Frenchman, who is out of contract this summer, has been heavily linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu.

For quite some time, a move to Real Madrid has been touted as inevitable for Kylian Mbappe, and it's hard not to see why. However, one sources looks to offer a different narrative, claiming that the odds of him leaving PSG have gravely diminished.

The Frenchman is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in world football currently. His stunning last-minute winner against Los Blancos in the 1st leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 showdown is proof of that.

However, this is not a one-sided thing. The 2018 World Cup winner is keen on donning the iconic Los Merengues jersey. In fact, the 23-year-old revealed that he had informed his Ligue 1 employers of his desire to move to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer, but he was ultimately denied his wish.

With his contract set to expire this summer and an extension being nowhere in sight, all roads point to a Bosman transfer to the Spanish capital once the current campaign ends. Or do they? Former PSG winger Jerome Rothen claims to be in the know, informing RMC Sport (as per Marca) that things have taken a turn for the better for Pochettino's side and that a stay in Paris looks likelier than ever.

Rothen claims that while the odds still favor a move to Real Madrid, relations between Mbappe and his current employers have drastically improved.

"According to my information, relations have improved between Kylian Mbappe and PSG," he said on the Rothen on Fire show.

"There was a 99 percent chance he would leave as of August. Today, however, things have warmed up so much that we've reached a 65 percent chance.

"I'm also told that this could change at any time."

However, the former Les Bleus international went on to add context, stating that the result of PSG's Champions League clash with Real Madrid could play a huge role in either convincing Kylian to stay or depart for La Liga.

"In the exchanges that I was able to have, I found out that qualification against Real Madrid could change things positively for PSG," he added.

The French top-flight leaders won the 1st leg 1-0 thanks to Mbappe's late goal, meaning that Ancelotti's men are still in the game. The second leg will take place at the Bernabeu in two weeks as Les Parisiens' search for their first UEFA Champions League crown.
