The Italian coach insisted that the Real Madrid superstar will be at the Bernabeu next season, whilst also claiming Ronaldo will end his career with Los Blancos

Despite Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes ruling out a Manchester United move for the Portuguese ace, hopes of a return to Old Trafford continues to linger amongst the 20-time English Premier League side's fans.

The 29-year-old attacker, who enjoyed a successful six-year spell at the Theatre of Dreams from 2003 to 2009, has been rumored to be high up on current Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal's wish list, with reports suggesting a £60m fee and a £20m-per-year salary being enough to lure the two-time Ballon d'Or winner from Santiago Bernabeu.

Now, however, Los Blancos coach Carlo Ancelotti has stepped in to squash any possibility of seeing Ronaldo in a Manchester United jersey again, insisting he is “ 100% certain” that the 29-year-old will be at Madrid next season, further revealing that the Portuguese star will end his football career with Les Merengues.

"Everyone can be changed and substituted but Ronaldo is now the best in the world and it [would mean] Madrid lose the best player, which is a huge loss," Ancelotti stated.

"But this won't happen - because Ronaldo will go to the end of his career at Real Madrid. I'm 100% certain he will be here next season not at Manchester United, 100%.

"He's happy here, he's loved here by everyone. It's a perfect relationship at this moment so I don't think it will change. Ronaldo will finish his career here."

Real Madrid, a club always linked with an array of young attacking talents across the globe, have been rumored to be eying a move for Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, but Ancelotti was quick to douse this rumor.

"To think of another striker for the Real Madrid attack is really extremely difficult," he argued. "It's clear that Sterling is not in our plans."
