They will become the first team to have this athletic company on their jerseys for the 2021/2022 campaign.

Roma may have seen their form take a downturn recently, which has thus ruled them out of the Scudetto race, but the Giallorossi do have something to look forward to nonetheless.

The Lupi are the only Italian side still afloat in European competition, as they will take on Ajax in the Europa League next month. And the capital based club have been very busy off the pitch as well.

Earlier, we revealed that the Giallorossi had signed two deals with British fintech company REPX and gaming site LeoVegas.news for the upcoming term.

Those aren't the only business opportunities Roma have been involved in. Another concerns their kits. Since 2014, Roma have partnered with Nike to produce their famed Giallorossi jerseys. But starting in 2021, they will have a new sponsor: New Balance.

In doing so, Roma will be making history as the first Serie A side to link up with the American footwear and apparel company. Interestingly, the Giallorossi are also presently under American ownership, and have been so since 2011.

Italian media publication Il Romanista has claimed that the three-year deal will be worth about €3-4 million per annum. This doesn't include the inherent value of the apparel. Roma will also get about 40 per cent of sales, which is a better deal than the one than they have with Nike.

New Balance will be responsible for producing Roma's matchday kits and training gear, as well as fan apparel that will be sold worldwide.

This partnership will bring the curtain down on Roma's long-term association with Nike. Roma had initially cancelled their decade-long contract (which was worth about $6 million/€5 million per year) four years prior to its expiry back in July before reneging to sign a short term one year contract for the 2020/21 season.
