Major League Soccer - How to watch Matchday 33 games on Sept. 20

We are slowly approaching the end of the regular season in Major League Soccer, and if things were not tricky enough for those teams currently ranked under the playoff line, all we can say is that they will be getting even trickier.

With the current state of things in the league, the only team to have secured a spot in the playoffs are Cincinnati, but the Orange and Blue could be getting more company sooner than expected if Orlando and New England can keep up the good work. In the Western Conference, things are a little tighter right now, and it is bound to get even more rough, especially with a match such as St. Louis City vs. Los Angeles FC in our hands this midweek.

Last weekend's fixtures saw Inter Miami dropping huge points in their race to make the playoffs. Now, Messi's squad needs to win 15 of all 21 points left in their season to reach the next stage. Will it be over for the Herons? Wednesday will offer them a chance to redeem themselves in front of their loyal fans at DRV PNK Stadium, but one more loss could be the end of the road for Martino, Messi, and Co.

With no further delay, here's what to keep an eye on this Wednesday.

How to watch Wednesday's games in the 2023 MLS season?

The games set to take place all throughout Wednesday will include some nail-biters, including some fixtures being available on linear TV. That list begins with Inter Miami vs. Toronto FC, which will be available both on MLS Season Pass and on TSN1, TSN4, TSN5, and via RDS. Later that day, LA Galaxy vs. Minnesota United will feature two desperate teams trying to secure points ahead of the playoffs, with the match also being aired by TSN1, TSN4 and on RDS for Canadian users. The rest of the fixtures will be available to watch in over 100 countries via MLS Season Pass.

Messi expected back with Inter Miami after 5-2 loss to Atlanta

Inter Miami's unbeaten run since Lionel Messi joined the team has come to an end, but things are expected to change on Wednesday, as the Argentine ace has been confirmed by coach Tata Martino as part of the team that will host Toronto.

Martino admitted that Messi's packed schedule, which included a trip to play for Argentina, was too much for the player to handle. With that in mind, the team's hierarchy decided to give him a day off and recover from muscle fatigue.

DC United goalie ruled out for the rest of the season

Wayne Rooney's team received disappointing news when Tyler Miller was ruled out for the remainder of the current campaign. Miller, an All-Star this summer, has been placed on the season-ending injury list after failing to recover from a torn shoulder rotator cuff. The player came down with this injury back in August, but the team hoped that he was not going to require surgery to fix it. Unfortunately, the club has revealed he will be undergoing surgery soon, which will leave his stats at six clean sheets in 25 games for Rooney's crew.

MLS terminate Matko Miljevic's contract after playing...for an amateur team!

In what only can be categorized as one of the most bizarre stories of the season, CF Montreal has decided to end Matko Miljevic's deal after breaching the terms of his contract with the MLS club. Apparently, the player got fed up with spending too much time on the bench and decided to join an amateur side. After being discovered by the league, Miljevic got into an argument with a friend's opponent, whom he was cheering for, and was expelled from the amateur league after a brawl broke out. Miljevic only played 951 minutes for CF Montreal since he joined the Canadian side in 2021.

Man United trolled by Brighton after suffering historic 3-1 defeat to De Zerbi's side

The Red Devils are still in the early stages of the 2023-24 campaign but the Premier League giants have suffered another embarrassing result, losing 3-1 for the second game in a row, this time against Brighton.

Ten Hag's men welcomed the Seagulls to Old Trafford following their defeat to Arsenal just before the international break, and after only 20 minutes, Rashford and Co. found themselves 1-0 down courtesy of Welbeck. Pascal Groß and João Pedro also got on the scoresheet for the visitors while Hannibal Mejbri scored a consolation goal for the hosts.

And to add insult to injury, Brighton took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll the 20-time Premier League winners. The Seagulls drew attention to the fact that this is their second consecutive win at Manchester United's home ground, writing: "We just love playing at Old Trafford". However, this game was a nightmare for Manchester United for a lot more reasons than this.

Salah makes Premier League history after inspiring Liverpool to comeback win vs. Wolves with bag of assists

Liverpool, who were without Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold on Saturday due to suspension and injury respectively, were exceptionally poor in the first half against Wolves and were fortunate to enter the break only 1-0 down.

However, in Mohamed Salah, Jurgen Klopp boasts one of the best attackers in world soccer and the Egyptian ace showed just that by inspiring the Merseyside giants to a brilliant comeback victory.

While the 31-year-old did not get on the scoresheet, he had a hand in all three goals as Klopp's men went on to win 3-1 — Salah, however, was only awarded two assists on paper. As a result, he became the African player with the most assists in Premier League history.

Liga F season to get back on track after players cancel strike

It's been a turbulent time for Spain's Liga F, as the league and its players were at loggerheads regarding salaries and other matters, but for now, it appears that both sides have come to a peaceful resolution.

One major point of contention for Liga F players was the minimum salary, which was approximately $17,200 last season. The players' organization, FUTPRO, were hoping to see that increase to $26,800 for the 2023/24 season and $32,100 for the following campaign. Ultimately, they settled on a multi-tiered salary boost that would see the minimum wage increased to $22,500 for the 2023/24 season, $24,100 for the 2024/25 term, and $25,200 for the 2025/26 campaign.

While these numbers do look much lower than what FUTPRO were hoping, with the minimum wage of $22,500 over $4,000 lower than their hoped increase to $26,800, there is reportedly another part of the agreement that would see this figure increase even further over the next three seasons.

Inter punish Milan with 5-1 thumping to re-write history books

Inter Milan are named by most experts as the top candidate to win Serie A this season, and the club honored those predictions by defeating their bitter rivals mercilessly in another edition of the Derby della Madonnina.

The Nerazzurri claimed a comfortable 5-1 win over their neighbors thanks to a brace by Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a stunning goal by Marcus Thuram, and two more second-half strikes by Hakan Calhanoglu and Davide Frattesi, who canceled any comeback hopes by the Rossoneri after Rafael Leao's goal.

Simone Inzaghi's men managed to give fans their money's worth with this spectacular performance, which has also made headlines for the historical significance of this win. First off, it had been a while since Inter had dominated Milan in a game by scoring five goals.
