Spain will have one more battle before they can lift their third consecutive major title. They must face Italy who have proven all critics wrong with a deserved win over hot favourites Germany.

UEFA Euro 2012  has arguably been the best ever European Championship. It will conclude Sunday evening with the defending European and World Champions Spain defending their title and honor against a lethal Italian side that has improved their style and confidence match after match.

Portugal came very close to succeeding in the semi-finals. However, 90 minutes of intense play had their legs succumb to tiredness. In extra time, Spain once again showed who was boss on the pitch.

It is said that champions usually have lady luck smiling on them; that was the case as La Furia Roja overtook Portugal in a penalty shoot-out to book a date with Italy.

The Italians are the only team to have not lost to Spain in this Euro Cup. Andrea Pirlo has been magnificent. He has transformed into a genuine contender for the player of the tournament gong.

Aside the services of Pirlo, Italy can rest assured with the performances of an electrified Cassano and an immense Balotelli. The creative support of Montolivo and the agressive backline cannot be ignored either. Behind all this talent, Italy have one of the world's best keepers in the form of Gianluigi Buffon. With this group, coach Cesare Prandelli has worked wonders at UEFA Euro 2012.

Prandelli's tactical approach to each game has brought out the best of Italy. The same cannot be said about Spain's Vicente Del Bosque. The latter has relied on the auto-pilot switch of their tiki-taka game which many now find boring. The Spaniards biggest challenge comes this Sunday in the UEFA Euro 2012 final. The world will be watching, will you?

The last match between these two sides was in the summer of 2011 for an International Friendly. There was alot of familiar faces that participated in this match. In this last encounter, Italy edged out the World Cup Champs by 2-1.
